This is my all-time favorite Christian Fiction novel: A Voice in the Wind, by Francine Rivers. It's the first book in the Mark of the Lion trilogy, and about a young Christain-Jewish woman whose family is killed and becomes a slave in the Roman Empire, circa 117 AD. I don't see enough books about this time period and what happened to Christains after Christ, and I thought it was beautifully written and very well researched. I loved how it detailed what life would have been like as a slave, or a wealthy Roman and even as a Gladiator. There's romance and adventure, but what I love most is how you see what sort of persecution Christians went through... it made me think alot about my own faith.
On a funny note, @bpierceslp tried to get me to read it for years before I finally did, and then when I started I couldn't stop till I'd finished the whole trilogy XD I think from now on I should trust her recommendations
If any of you have great books you recommend like this one, please let me know!
